Sustainable use of the rainforest

Human beings have been using the rainforest all around the world sustainably for many
thousands of years. Nowadays, billions of people also use the rainforest in many different ways, some – sustainably, but the others – not as sustainable. Some people think, that in order to survive, we need to continue getting resources we need for surviving. Others say that we can continue to use the rainforest, but in a more sustainable way. Is the forest and the rainforest use sustainable or not?

People who support forest use argue that biofuels are more sustainable fuels than fossil fuels, both in terms of destruction of the rainforest and the pollution of the atmosphere. And as a result of the big destruction and pollution from fossil fuels came up with a way of making a more sustainable kind of fuel – biofuel. Biofuels are the new generation of fuels, which don't give as much pollution as fossil fuels into the atmosphere when burned. You will also probably get more money from selling biofuels than fossil fuels for their sustainability, quick production and will not need to use as much money for making them as fossil fuels.

On the other hand, if we continue growing whole loads of plantations we'll probably end up chopping down the whole rainforest. All right, we need biofuels, but we'll lose about 30% or even more of our precious oxygen which those trees produce. Although biofuels are good, we would probably need the Amazon rainforest's oxygen a lot more. Of course we will still have about 30% from the Siberian forest and about 40% from the other trees scattered around the planet. But don't you think that 100% of oxygen is better than 70%?

However, if we need to stop using the rainforest, we must also stop mining for metals and gems, what no one will ever do, according to the amount of money they earn. Some people may not have a choice, maybe in terms of their ability or possibly money. Here, money means the amount they get payed at their job. The word ability, here means what people who mine can do. People use metals in a lot of different ways, otherwise we wouldn't even be mining. Some are used for vehicles, others – jewelry, some rare metals – for computers and electronics. Also we'll have to stop mining for oil and other fossils, which we use as fuels, what we cannot afford to do right now, because we don't make as much biofuels as we need to make enough amount and keep it quite cheap.

Nevertheless, if we'll keep on mining for resources until there are non left, which will destroy, first – some, then – all ecosystems of the Amazon rainforest. After we've destroyed the ecosystems, we'll never be able to make them as complexity, their beauty and the huge amount of animal and plant life species which they had. In fact, the Amazon rainforest has more flora and fauna than any other rainforest, which makes it even more hard to put everything back into their places. Do you still think that we need to chop down the precious trees in the rainforest and ruin its ecosystems?

Although we need resources we need to use the land more sustainably. We could ''reuse'' it. For example: first use it to grow crops and then mine, or log and then grow. We could also put compost, which we could make easily, into the ground we've used to grow again and again.

How to make lianas/vines for terrain

First, if you want to make a liana or seres of them you'll need about 7 wires ( about 1-2 mm thick is fine, they should also be longer than the piece of terrain you are going to put them on) , brown paint, light green paint, light yellow paint, green wash, light brown, texturer( universal primer ), and tamiya light sand effect.

Firstly, you have to make one liana out of the wires by winding them around each other. Put at the bottom of your terrain and start going up the buildinng. The higher you go the more you must get the huge liana unwinded. Try to keep the lianas touching the wall and make them go in different directions. If your peice of terrain, like mine has windows or something like that lay some wires to go insede the building and disappear or you can make them come out of another window. If two lianas meet again you can wind and then unwind them if yuo would like. This is what me and my dad got.

Before you structure the lianas you must glue the lianas where they are touching the terrain. Then you take the texturer, me and my dad used universal primer GESSO bought in Bangkok and you put it in the places on the wire where it is winded to make lumps of it. Also put it in some places on the single wire to make something like pimples. The more the wires are winded in some place the more you should put of texturer.

After you have textured the lianas, you need to paint the terrain your lianas are on, the basecoating colour. Then, paint the lianas flat brown. The places where the wires are neat take the tamiya light sand effect and mix it with brown in a proportion 1 drop of paint to 5 drops of the effect so its hard enough. Put two layers of the mixture on the bold wires and one on the other places. When you think its enough – stop.

Then make a green wash in the plces where shadows would be. Do a light brown drybrush on the wrinckles. To represent new leaves growing use the tamiya sand effect and just make little drips of it in the places where you will make the leaves. Next paint the leaves green after the effect has dried and to represent the stems, make light green lines. Then finish colouring the building itself. If you want to see how I painted my Impirial Bastion find Finishing The Impirial Bastion. Have any sugestions or questions? COMMENT!!!

Herod Sayle Biography from Stormbreaker

Herod Sayle

Born in the backstreets of Beirut, Lebanon, Herod Sayle didn't even have a little chance of getting education and then being a multi-millionaire, but now he's in the top 5 richest multi-billionaire people of the whole England. It wasn't the success of his mum's or dad's work. It was his luck. And when he got that luck, his life turned to the good way.

As a child Herod saved two American tourists from a falling piano, which would probably kill them. That's how it was: Herod Sayle just walked down the street to the shop to buy some food, when he saw a piano being moved in the room with an open window. There was some slippery liquid on the floor of that room. The piano was moved right on that place. It slipped. It broke the wall and flew down, gathering speed as quickly as Herod at that moment. He jumped at the American tourists and just a nano-second before the piano killed them, he pushed them out of the way. The piano hit the floor just a millimeter away from them and it hit the floor that hard that the cement cracked.

The American tourists were so thankful that they took Sayle to an English school in London. Although Herod didn't want to leave his family, he did, because his dad said that he would've liked to have a smart child, so Herod went.

Herod's family had so many members that all of them had to share clothing, food. His dad tried to be a hairdresser, but was fired just about 2 weeks after he started that job. When there was a war in Beirut; while Herod's dad was cutting somebody's hair , soldiers came and shot everybody, except Sayle's dad-he hid on the rooftop. After that the head of that hairdressing company asked Herod Sayle's dad, ”Why didn't kill them with scissors?” and he answered, ”Because I'm not a contract killer”. Although Herod's dad was a good hairdresser, he got fired.

Sayel's mum took place in laundry all of her time, she was moderately successful, so that's how Herod's family got some money for food and clothes. All the other of his huge, but poor family were nine brothers, four sisters, a granny, two goats, a dog, a cat and even three hens. They were all his best friends for that time. All of his family were born and grew up in total violence, so they had to know how to protect themselves and fight, that's why him and his brothers and sisters fought against each other to train themselves, instead of going to fighting sessions which cost a lot of money. Then as we already know Herod saved two American tourists, who after that brought him to an English, private school in London.

When he came to the school the first time he was scared and didn't want to go to school. Then he got alright and learned extremely hard to make his dad's dream come true, ”One of my kids must have a proper life when he or she grows up”, he used to say. Herod Sayle learned with a boy who is now the priminister of England. :They both learned very well and were best friends in the school. And in the future that actually became the priminister of England.

In school Herod Sayle got nine O levels. After finishing the school Herod went to Cambridge university, where he got a first in economics. His hard education led him to the life of a rich man. He wasn't just happy because he was the best in the class, it also was because he made is dad's dream come true. Now Herod set up his own task-to be rich.

His radio station which he started off with, was the first job Herod Sayle had. His music, which he made up also by himself got famous in the whole world just in two days after his radio station was built and started working. Herod liked that and now wanted to be not just rich, but be a multi-billionaire. And he updated his task

Secondly, he set up his own record label, which worked so good that also was a success. Now Herod Sayle was already a millionaire, so he got a string of racehorses, but he didn't know how old they were and was amazed by the “shocking price“. Because of their age a they always eventually came last. Well just one of them was good and came first some times, but after a few years it got as lazy as the others and did the same thing as them-slept for 22 hours in a day. Herod Sayle liked all those things, but wanted something what with he will get lots of money.

And one night, in Herod's dream, after a whole day spent on thinking, he got an idea. Computer! Computer software! Called “Stormbreaker“. He spent hours, days, weeks, months working out, how to make it better than the best computer ever made, how to make it that good, so even kids who hate school would like to learn on it. Then he got it, the computer must work and show everything very realistically. Then he finally invented it and started manufacturing them. “Stormbreaker“ was the best computer which was invented recently.

Then Sayle built plant which will be manufacturing the “Stormbreaker“ computer and computer software. In one month the computers will be generously donated to all the schools of England; they will be brought to them by cars, airplanes, helicopters, trucks, ships and even submarines. ”Imagine that every kid in the country and then the whole world will have their own “Stormbreaker“!”, exclaimed Herod Sayle in the news last week.

Moving to Chiang Mai

This year we were moving to Chiang Mai from Samui because on Samui there are to much people so the educational program isn't as good as it was before. My mom, my brother ( Ilya ) and my sister ( Lisa ) went by airplane firstly to Bangkok and then to Chiang Mai. My dad and I went by car and because Ching Mai is one the other side of Thailand we started to go a day before my mom, Ilya and Lisa did. Firstly we went by Seatran Ferry through the sea between the mainland and this island. When we came to the mainland we went by one long road. By the way to Chiang Mai we past a lot of cities – Bangkok, Lampang for example. We thought that we would not reach Chiang Mai this day but we did beacause my dad drank some good coffee in the middle. Well we reached it we were so tired that we could not feel our body because we drove hole 1425 kilometers!
